For the last few weeks as I’m sure many of you have seen in the forums, the NASCAR 09 Paint Booth has been inoperational and even taken off the EASportsWorld (EASW) website.

According to this post, there is a paint booth uploader still around on the site that seems to work for the majority of members.

This recent debacle has brought to light a very dark truth, NASCAR 09 isn’t going to be supported forever, and many artists have stopped painting cars due to the outages, leagues are running their final seasons and overall it’s becoming very clear that people are going to need something new very soon. MRG is attempting to fill the gap with NASCAR Racing 2003, Forza 3, GT5 (Later this year) and rFactor, let’s go over a few things we are supporting officially;

MRG is still providing resources for NASCAR 09 as long as the paintbooth is available, however we’d like to tone this down so it’s not too sudden of a change once the Paint Booth goes offline for good.

We’re officially supporting the Design Mods Racing (Formerly Rioux Mods) Sprint Cup 2010 (Cup10) Mod, both Wing and Spoiler Variants. We provide templates, bases and full car files for it, with carsets planned down the line.

We’re also supporting the NCWTS09/10 Mod (Trucks), providing some full carfiles, and the Project Wildfire GNS Mod (Nationwide), and any number of smaller mods our artists may want to paint for (Outlaw Latemodels, Cup90, Late Models Projectv2, etc.).

We’re supporting an active Forza 3 Community, and it’s paintbooth feature has become quite popular with the Xbox crowd. GT5 will also have a big presence if the rumored Livery Editor (Paint Booth) is included. As for rFactor, we’re still researching templates, mods and things we can support, but unofficially we can support the Stock Car Evolution mod (Uses the same models as Cup10 for the COT models), and a few users are running a Dallara IndyCar mod (sadly the author of the post doesn’t know the name).

We’re also attempting to expand into more general areas, such as general digital art, gaming and other things you might like to discuss, remember if you ever have any suggestions we’re willing to listen!

So please take a moment to check out these newer sections, and have a great visit!

If you have been following Herd Racing’s efforts lately, you’re probably aware of the major sponsorship initiative going on with SFI Marketing and their subsidiary companies EyeEarn.com and TripleClicks. It’s great news indeed, and though I don’t know all of the details personally about the extent of their sponsorship, it does include sponsorship for the entire team and will allow them to compete in not just the NASCAR Nationwide Series… Continue Reading: Reinventing The Wheels - Branching Out

I don’t know of anyone who gets involved in a sport like NASCAR because it pays good, or you travel a lot. I think everyone who works within it has got to be a little bit of a fan. Sure, we’re asked to put aside our loyalties when we work, but every Sunday during the season, I’m willing to bet nearly all of them put on their favorite driver’s hat… Continue Reading: Reinventing the Wheels - Running On E
