Public Service Announcement – Scheduling Maintenance for Friday the 29th of January

Just an announcement that MRG will be making some upgrades to the Blog and Forum software beginning Friday, January 29th at 10PM EST (9 CST, 8 MST and 7 PST) for around 2 to 3 hours planned.
During this time the site may be unaccessible and data may be lost (Posts, User Accounts and Comments) if it is created during these few hours.
Just a quick overview of what’s changing:
The Wordpress software will be upgraded to Version 2.9.1, fixing a few security exploits and allowing us to use the RSS feeds again (So you may get your NASCAR News from the homepages)
The Forums (PHPBB) will be upgraded to version 3.0.6, which will introduce some new features and faster access, along with some security updates.
The PHP Script Services will be upgraded to Version 5, which will allow us to use all the features of both Wordpress and the Blog.
Last but certainly not least, the iRacing Division site will be updated to allow us to share userdata in real time, there have been some issues with the user data transfer method we were using and unfortunately users that registered after the iRacing division was started have not been moved into the database properly (and vice versa with the new users to the iRacing site)
We Appreciate your patience and understanding, and as we roll out MRG 3.1 we’re doing our best to make this the premier sim painting site on the net and provide you, the community with a ton of content in months to come!

I don’t know of anyone who gets involved in a sport like NASCAR because it pays good, or you travel a lot. I think everyone who works within it has got to be a little bit of a fan. Sure, we’re asked to put aside our loyalties when we work, but every Sunday during the season, I’m willing to bet nearly all of them put on their favorite driver’s hat… Continue Reading: Reinventing the Wheels - Running On E
She has many nicknames, the old track built on farmland in the middle of South Carolina. “The Track Too Tough to Tame,” “The Lady in Black,” or just simply “Darlington.” As a child I remember the name being spoken with reverence, excitement, or wonder, and as I grew older and watched the many races that took place there, I had a fairly basic understanding as to why Darlington was such… Continue Reading: Reinventing the Wheels - The Lady in Black
